Polk County High School’s FBLA chapter began in 1973 as the Polk County High School Business Professionals of America (BPA). The founder, Betty Jean Green, wanted to give students an opportunity to participate in a business organization and to be able to grow in their knowledge of the business world. In 1994, Vera Green, the school’s business and accounting teacher, took over the chapter. It was not until 2002 that Mr. Dewey Esquinance founded our first FBLA chapter. These later merged and the result was a larger motivated and dedicated group who were ready to succeed in the business world. In 2007, several more people joined together to support the group, including Leann Thomason and Ryan Goodman.
